English Comedy Talent Award 2025: Discover new Talents

The English Comedy Talent Award (ECTA) is back for its third edition and continues to spotlight the freshest comedic voices in the Netherlands and Belgium. Launched in 2023 as an international spin-off of the long-running Dutch Comedy Talent Award, ECTA was created to give English-speaking comedians a platform to develop, compete, and shine.

Past winners include Diederik Zuurmond (2023) now a regular at Club Haug and Marcos Cirino Seda (2024), who both impressed with sharp wit and unique stage presence. This year, the competition will run throughout May, June and July, with six preliminary rounds held at the iconic Kargadoor in Utrecht.

Three comedians from each round will advance to the semi-finals in early July, leading up to a grand final on July 19th during the Utrecht Summer Comedy Fest. Finalists will also earn a coveted spot in the Utrecht International Comedy Festival 2026, one of the largest comedy events in mainland Europe.
